The local cuisine is excellent. Most restaurants serve meat or fish, along with veggies and potatoes. There are also several pizza places in the valley. Vegetarian options are always available. One of the evenings we’re invited to a “spare rib and Haxen party” at the Junser Gasthäus’l, which some of you already know from the yearly geekski event.
Many restaurants and pubs will serve the local beer called “Zillertal Bier”. Apart from the Pils, they brew a black beer, Hefeweizen and Märzen. In Lanersbach itself is a small brewery attached to the restaurant “Metzgerwirt”. Apart from their own beer (called “Tuxer Bier”), they’ve also started making a single malt whiskey (“Tuxer Single Malt”). I think we should organise a tasting. 🙂
